Metropia is awarded VDOT’s RM3P Dynamic Incentivization Project

Metropia, Inc. is excited to announce that it has been awarded the Regional Multimodal Mobility Program’s (RM3P) Dynamic Incentivization (DI) project that is co-managed by the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) and the Department of Rail and Public Transportation (DRPT). Metropia will lead a multi-disciplinary consultant team, which includes Kimley Horn, ICF, ArchStreet Communications, Avid-Core, Alta Planning, TransSight, and CommuterLink.

"We are honored to have been selected by VDOT as their trusted technology partner for this critical initiative. Together, we will support VDOT's vision of Cohesive TSMO, enhancing transportation reliability and safety for travelers to/from/across northern Virginia through optimizing their travel experiences," stated Dr. Yi-Chang Chiu, CEO at Metropia, Inc.

DI will function as a data-driven system offering the public  mobility options and incentives, aimed to foster long-term sustainable behavior and to effectively respond to unforeseen real-time travel conditions. The envisioned services will carry a local brand and will be locally optimized using Metropia's powerful Mobility as a Service (MaaS) modules, such as real-time prediction of incident impacts, multimodal trip planner, digital mobility wallet, and incentive engine. The DI project will collaborate with other regional RM3P initiatives such as the Data- Exchange Platform (DEP) and AI-Based Decision Support System (AI-DSS). The digital and physical incentives will be offered by regional agencies and third-party providers.
