Vision & Mission

Our vision is simple: to make cities better places to live and work.

Our mission is to deliver transportation technology solutions that connect people and enable safe and reliable access to places and opportunities.

Departments of Transportations, transit agencies, cities and businesses apply our technology tools to combat congestion, make transit payments and ticketing a seamless process and offer more accessible, sustainable and safer mobility options.

Our work is guided by the values of mobility, accessibility, equity, safety and sustainability.

Our Company

Metropia is a transportation technology solutions and consulting firm headquartered in Houston, Texas.

Founded in 2012, Metropia is composed of transportation engineers, computer scientists, software developers, big data analysts and transportation planners and communicators all with solid academic backgrounds, practical experience and a passion for solving urban mobility problems.

Our founders built Metropia on a strong foundation of traffic engineering with a vision of the many possibilities that technology has to offer. We understand the nuances of transportation systems and traffic engineering that other tech companies don’t.

Our employees all share a common passion for discovering how technology can be deployed to solve traffic congestion and make cities a better place to live. We are driven to create congestion mitigation solutions that meet the holistic needs of communities from New York to Taipei, not only for today, but into the future.

Our Expertise

Metropia’s expertise is in developing and integrating high-performance and mobile computing technologies to produce apps and back-end analytics capabilities that help both users (commuters) and entire systems (cities) to mitigate congestion during normal operations, pre-planned special events, or unexpected, extraordinary circumstances. Metropia takes a Total Mobility® approach with its Mobility as a Service and other technology solutions.

Powered by AI-based algorithms, data analytics and behavioral economics, our technology provides the conduit for developing a congestion-mitigation framework and deploying Active Demand Management (ADM) strategies addressing time of day, mode and route. In addition, Metropia has developed and maintains a suite of software and related mobile app solutions that support different mobility operations such as demand-responsive transit systems (DRTS), rideshare and hailing solutions.
