TUCSON, Arizona -- Beginning in May, the City of Tucson will partner with local driving app, Metropia and start a Travel Reduction Campaign for their employees. The partnership will offer smarter travel options for city employees, enabling them to cut transportation time and costs during their daily commutes, and while they are driving on behalf of the City of Tucson.
The city will receive reports illustrating the average travel-time savings, routing prediction accuracy, user experience satisfaction, and carbon dioxide/greenhouse gas savings of their team. Metropia’s information will poise the City of Tucson to track their progress toward their campaign goals of improved air quality and reduced travel congestion.
In order to meet these goals, increased alternate travel mode usage and reduced overall motor vehicle travel for commute trips will be incentivized. Employees will be encouraged to try alternative transportation and to log their trips at SunRideshare.org in order to qualify for prizes during the month of May.
